Liam is 5 Month Old - Cheeky Monkey

Liam is 5 months old.  We brought the monkey off the shelf for this month's photo op.
Everything started out normal.

Then the monkey must have said something really shocking. (Cheeky Monkey)

Liam showed him who was boss.

Everybody involved was smiling.

Then Mommy came and saved Liam.

I hope the Monkey will get to make another appearance next month.

America's Next Top Model.

We had a fashion show at Bubbles and Bubbles today.  Those in attendance where Momma O, Kittyama, and the shop owner herself, Liam's BFF - Aunt Beth.

These two shirts are from Wonderboy.  They are very cute and Liam will be wearing them around town. The shoes are from Robeez.  The shorts are from Liam's personal wardrobe - the Target Collection.

America's Next Top Model.

Young Liam is sporting the Skivvies look from Knuckleheads.

They are too cute.

This outfit from the Tea Collection.  I love the big fish.

America's Next Top Model.

This is a subtle green stripe number from Tea.  Liam looks quite handsome in this outfit.

Happy to be Sister and Brother.

A nice moment with Meredith and Jordan leaving their mother's store.

Who Knew Boys have Prom Issues, Too!

Jordan's Prom is next Saturday.  His sister Meredith and I went to help him pick out a Tux.  The girl that asked him to the prom is wearing a multi colored dress, so Meredith and I decided he should go very classic-Black and White.
We started out thinking the best choice would be a white jacket, black pants, white shirt and black bow tie.  I was lobbying for a black cumberbun - Meredith like the black vest.

Thank goodness we went somewhere where they had product to try, because when Jordan tried on the jacket - it was too white.

We ended up choosing an all black tux, white vest, white shirt, black bow tie.   Even thought you can't try on the whole outfit, Meredith and I thought Jordan will look very handsome.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day everyone.
It's easy to be this baby's mother.  So cute, so cuddly and so sweet.  The worst thing he does is go poopy in his diapers.  Even then he laughs about it.  So remember this love when they are older.

Jordan

Jordan is graduating from High School on May 31st.  The end of the school year has started.
Last Monday night he was honored at the Broward County Athlete Association's dinner.  Each High School in Broward County nominates students to be honored and some received scholarships. Here is the criteria to nominated:
• Must be a senior high school student
• Must have a minimum of a 3.2 G.P.A., including the first semester of the senior year
• Must be a varsity letter winner
• Must exhibit commitment to total school program and community at large, and
• Must be nominated by the high school principal and athletic director

This is what the program at the dinner said:
Jordan Nein
Jordan is a four-year member of the swimming team and a four year member of the baseball team.  He ranks 49 in a class of 380.  Jordan received a Outstanding Achievement Award in American History Honors and Spanish 2.  He has 193 documented volunteer hours.  Jordan will be attending Stetson University in the fall.

We are all very proud of Jordan.

He and his dad - Brett  (refer to the picture in the "Three Faces of Easter" entry.) went to Deland, Florida a few weekends ago to visit Stetson and to go to a freshman orientation.  The school is quite lovely.
Here is a picture of Molly and girl who will be attending Stetson in the fall.  She lives in New Hampshire. Jordan has made friends with her on line over the past few months.  They are meeting for the first time and a picture of one of the buildings on campus.

It Is TOO MUCH To Get Over!

There have been reports of Liam turning over.  I have seen something very close, but you can see that it might be a little hard for Liam to get his bottom half to cooperate.

Thank You Steve Jobs!!!!!

Thank you Steve Jobs, John Lennon, and the lovely relatives who made it possible for me to have this Mac PowerBook G4 that I love SOOO.

Notice the smiling sweet faced Liam above. That was not the baby I watched last night.
If you are a fan of his mother's blog (and I can't image that you would read one without the other) you know that Liam has been ferberized. I am so in loved and proud of Liam's parenting duo. I am WOWED by everything they do.

Last night was Kittyama's big night. The first time really watching Liam. Momma O and Daddy O went to a movie and dinner. When I arrived Liam had not had his early evening nap. This is usually a 1/2 hour or so sleep boost to get ready for the going to sleep routine. He was sitting in his swing trying to get to his toes. All in all pretty happy. His mom wrote down simple instructions: Between 7:00 and 8:00PM
1) Feed him.
2) Change him.
3) Dress him. P.J.s
4) Turn on the night light.
5) Read him two books.
6) Start the C.D. player
7) Sway with him to John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy".
       8) Put him in bed and give him his toy.
       9) Leave the room.

Sounds easy RIGHT. They leave, (insert dramatic sound effects here-something from maybe a Hitchcock movie) he doesn't want to be in the swing anymore. Of course that's no problem, I really came to play.  He is in no mood.  He wants to be held and walked-no problem I do love him and like to hold him.  After a while he seems to have fallen asleep on my shoulder.  I sit down and he stays asleep.  He sleeps for about 15 minutes and I have been warned that if he sleeps longer the night routine won't work.  At this time let me explain that I know that some of you may be saying phish posh on the routine, but I have a great appreciation for the work that it took Momma O to get Liam to this point. I was not going to be the one to break the routine.

I did it!  I woke a sleeping baby.  He was not happy.  It was close to 7:00, so I fed him. He ate, but kept staring at me. I went to burp him and he looked very similar to this picture.

I went to #2 change him. He loves the changing table and it is always a good place for a laugh, but not tonight. Liam kept crying and stretching his head backwards toward his bedroom door. Looking, hoping for his parents to save him. I choose the wrong pajamas-too small. He was madddd.  I changed to his
Tiny Sprouts "Night Night Liam" outfit-better fit, but not the answer.  I did turn on the night light.  I doubt he noticed. There was a tiny bit of milk left in the bottle, that must be the answer. NO. We walked, we swayed, we bounced. I thought maybe the books, "Liam it's a green bug,  look at the red bug. What about the orange ant." NO.
MUSIC! Music will soothe the savage beast.

BUT, HOW DO I TURN ON THE C.D PLAYER.

I pressed every button known to man and machine trying to get the D*** thing to work. I got radio static but no "Beautiful, Beautiful Boy". At this point Liam is hysterical, red in the face, tears streaming down his face. By the way, I was smart enough to try calling the parents, no cell phone reception in the theater.
This is where the Steve Jobs part comes in to the story. I decided that the only missing part was the song. So I fired up my laptop and purchased the song. Put it on repeat. Set my laptop on the changing table. Put Liam in bed, gave him his small toy soothed him. Oh and we did dance to the song once too. He laid there rolled on his side a little and stared off in the distance and calmly fell asleep. The power of music.

P.S. Jeffrey, I had $1.10 left of the iTunes gift you gave me for my birthday. So, thank you too!

Four Month Pictures

4 months old.
Liam is getting to silly for posed pictures with a monkey.

The monkey is in the way of Liam's new favorite toys...his toes!
He likes to fold himself in half and eat his toes.

Three Faces of Easter

I love this picture of Liam with his Uncle Brett and Cousin (dog) Bailey.  All three have the same expression.  It was taken on Easter and I like to call it Three Faces of Easter.

Farewell Dan.

My 18 year old cat died today, March 27th.  In comparison to other losses in my life, this has a very small place.  But Dan has been hanging around with me for a very long time. He is the reason why my Grandchildren call me Kittyama.   Most of that time we pretty much ignored each other.  That is what makes cats the perfect pet.
I first saw him in 1990 in the window of a pet store that was in the Town Center in Plantation (since burned down).  I was with my very good friend and boss, Lisa.  We both thought he was the cutest kitten we ever saw.  I went back a few days later and bought him for $20.00.  In his early life he was a cat who needed to be outside at night.  He would pace and paw at the sliding glass door of anyplace I have lived.  When I bought the townhouse where I live now, one of the many rules was no roaming animals.  So he has been inside since 2000.
He has been failing for the past two years and for at least the past six months every week I would decide that I had had enough and he HAD TO DIE.  I never could actually do the deed.
Starting Monday he stopped eating,  something he loved to do.  He would not even eat cold cuts and he loved loved loved all deli meat.  The sound of opening the package would bring him running.  I made the appointment for 6:00 PM Thursday night.  In the morning he looked like he was dead.  I called his name - no response.  I tried to be busy in the kitchen and then decided I needed to put a towel over him while I tried to figure out what to do.  As soon as I covered him his head popped up.   He stay alive until I came home after work.  I wrapped him up in a towel and when I picked him up he meowed three times.  We took the ride to the vet's and when we got there they told me he was already gone.  Lisa came with me and we handed Dan over to a very sweet worker at the vet's office and that was that.  People will say that "he waited for me to come home".  I am choosing to think that he knew how freaked out I would have been if he had died in the house.  I can't say enough about my friend Lisa - Thanks for coming, Lisa.

This is my favorite picture Dan.
I always said he was surfing for
 "kitty porn".

Goodbye Dan.

I had really wanted to post a few more Photo's of Meredith, but I had to get to work this morning. I think she looks just beautiful.

She is not mad...the sun was very bright.

One of the Other Grandchildren

Meredith was home from college on the day the photographer was at her Mom's store.  Here is one of her pictures.  To see Liam's pictures go to Momma O's blog ... liamfoneill.blogspot.com.
Someday maybe Jordan won't be at baseball or swim practice and we will have his picture taken.
